Capabilities

Majority of our printing is done in temperature controlled environments with a maximum nozzle temperature of around 370 Celsius and a bed temperature of 120 Celsius. This is more than adequate for most FDM materials on the market today.

Individual part size is limited to approximately 300x300x300 mm. Parts can be assembled into larger components using fasteners, adhesives, etc.

In addition to the printers we have the necessary equipment for filament drying and laboratory ovens for part annealing where necessary.

Lastly, we have access to all the necessary tools and equipment needed in a typical machine-shop for inspection and post processing.

Pricing

While it is impossible to predict what each individual project will cost, here is a quick break down of how we do things:

• Filament Cost: The cost of the raw material used to make each individual component and can vary widely from $15.00/kg to $500.00/kg depending on the material you choose.
• Machine time: This is the cost per hour to operate the machine, after a while these things wear out and have to be replaced.
• Utilities: The cost of electricity to run the equipment as dictated by the local utility companies.
• Human Labor: If there is design work or model preparation involved then the rate for that service is higher than all the above.

Taking into account all of the above, the cost to produce a FDM part is still significantly lower than any other process, especially for low volume production of components with complex geometry.
